I don't usually wear New Balances, but I am part of the infamous crowd of people who have wide feet, and it is hard to find wide sizes in certain brands or styles. what drew me to these New Balances is that they are very stylish, and great looking. If you slapped the Nike Swoosh on here, i would have thought they were Nike's. That's how nice they look. Also this color combo of grey and black is very sharp. They fit great. I got the 11.5 4E. They aren't the most comfortable in cushioning, but to be honest that's about right for the price that these were. So if you are looking for more cushion, you will have to get the more expensive ones. But these are comfortable and fit well. These sneakers will be my everyday sneakers for just running errands or going to work. I will not be using them for running.

These shoes are a BEAST on the trails. Incredible traction. Lightweight (relatively) and provide great cushioning. I am a HUGE fan of Nike free's. Swore I would never own another par of running shoes. Ran the tough mudder in them, logged 100's of miles on the trails, etc. and never had an issue with them once. But...I wanted a more trail specific shoe and the Speedcross looked great and the reviews were all real positive. Ive ran in these several times and there really isnt much to complain about other than they are a narrow fit and I wouldnt run on the road with these. Ill go back to my free's for anything other than trail running.

If you wear Nikes, the fit will be pretty close

OK, so a little background here. I've been buying and wearing Nikes almost exclusively for the past 15+ years. However, because of my work environment (Middle East desert with plenty of rocks), the Nikes I was wearing were getting torn up pretty quickly. At $150-200 a pair, I had to come up with something different. So I tried these, as they were on sale. I wear a size 14/15, depending on the manufacturer. As I have been wearing mostly Nikes, I was accustomed to their size 14 being a 'perfect' fit. So I took a chance and ordered the Adidas as a size 14, as well. The fit was almost identical. The toe is narrower than the Shox I'm used to, but otherwise, a very comfortable choice. I can't report on how they stand up to the environment here yet, but I can tell you they're more comfortable and more stable on the rocky ground. I gave a -1 star because of the packaging. It was in the plastic bag, which allowed the USPS to completely demolish the box in shipping. The shoes arrived unscathed, but the box was round by the time I got it. Otherwise, I'd recommend these if you're used to Nikes. The fit seems to be almost the same.

These shoes have teeth that stick to rock surfaces better than any new balance or Nike trail shoe.<br /><br />I bought my parents a pair for each of them after countless pairs of new balance shoes on sale at Big 5. Totally worth the extra price. They walk the trails of Griffith park like mountain goats now.
